We have a focus on early intervention and prevention services and our mission is for all country people to have a safe home, enough money to live on and strong, positive relationships. Our core activities include the recruitment and support of foster carers, supports for people experiencing homelessness, Aboriginal services, family relationships, counselling, financial inclusion and community adult education.
Today we provide community services to the South Australian country communities of the Limestone Coast, Riverland, Murraylands, Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula.

Anglican Community Care Incorporated – ac.care [an incorporated body under the Associations Incorporation Act (1985)] was established to carry out initiatives and provide support services to enable people to function autonomously within the wider community. Its stated purpose is to work with country people to reduce homelessness, poverty, and isolation, and to support families and children to be safe and strong. It will achieve this by providing a wide range of community based services in Regional settings.

ac.care was established to carry out initiatives and provide support services to enable people to function autonomously within the wider community.
ac.care was created in Mount Gambier, South Australia in 1986 when a small group of local people identified a gap in care for teenagers unable to live at home. Local people initially fundraised to provide this service and eventually the State Government provided funding to recruit and support foster carers for local teenagers.
The first service was the recruitment and support of foster carers for local teenagers 12 to 18 years of age. The Anglican Parish Council of Christ Church Mount Gambier came forward and accepted the responsibility for auspicing the service.
The organisation grew with the merger of small local groups: South East Regional Accommodation Forum, South East Anglican Support Services, South Easterners Against Child Sexual Abuse, Millicent Community Access Centre and Mount Gambier Community House.
Since commencement, ac.care has developed in response to the needs of the local rural communities, now employing 260 staff and delivering over 70 different programs, including homelessness, youth and family services and Aboriginal services.
