ac.care has implemented immediate measures to safeguard and support staff, clients, volunteers and the community in response to the State Government’s announcement South Australia will enter a seven-day lockdown to restrict the spread of COVID-19.
While some of our sites will be closed throughout the lockdown, our essential services will continue with our community spaces remaining open for essential services, including homelessness support and emergency relief.
These sites are based in Mount Gambier (22-24 Ferrers Street), Murray Bridge (29 Bridge Street) and Berri (5 Kealley Street).
Emergency relief, including food support, will be available, however strict restrictions will be in place to minimise activity and interaction between visitors and masks will be mandatory, along with contact tracing.
Meanwhile, many of our staff continue to work from home to support vulnerable people and will provide appointments where possible via non-contact methods, such as phone and video calls, to ensure vital support continues.
If the lockdown or other restrictions are extended, well-developed service continuity plans will be enacted.
While the nature of ac.care service delivery is altered during this time in the interests of public health, we continue to be available to provide the best possible support to clients in the circumstances, in accordance with the most recent advice.
