Last week, ac.care staff joined colleagues from across the country at the 2026 Anglicare Australia National Conference in Darwin 💙🧡 Held on Larrakia Country, the conference explored themes of social justice, First Nations leadership and self-determination, cultural safety, inclusion and community wellbeing. Staff shared learning from our work alongside regional South Australian communities, including presentations on quality and safeguarding, Aboriginal community partnerships, and Living, Working and Walking Together - an Aboriginal-led training program that encourages deeper reflection, accountability and action around culture, history and working respectfully alongside First Nations people and communities. More than 40,000 toasted sandwiches were shared through our Mount Gambier Community Centre over 12 months, providing a simple meal, a warm welcome and an opportunity for connection 😋🍞 This was made possible through a generous $12,000 donation from Brenton James, Andrew Buchalka and QuickMix Concrete, which funded the centre's toasted sandwich program for an entire year.
